Ribbon cutting ceremony at DeWitt Career Advancement Center Grand Opening

Yesterday was a great day for the future of Central DeWitt students as well as our entire community when the ribbon was cut to officially open the DeWitt Career Advancement Center. The center is helping create equal educational opportunities for all area high school students by providing college-credit courses at no charge to build and refine workforce skills.

The state-of-the-art facility will host programs for agriculture, CNC machining, construction technology, healthcare, information technology and small business management.

DeWitt Career Advancement Center will also be beneficial for our local economy by creating a sustainable workforce for current area employers and it will attract new businesses to the area because we have the skilled workers they are seeking.

Thank you to EICC, DeWitt Chamber & Development Co., the City of DeWitt, residents of Clinton and Jackson Counties and everyone else involved for investing in the future of our students and our communities!

As Superintendent Dr. Dan Peterson said at the ceremony, “…it’s amazing what we can do when our community comes together.”
