Central DeWitt Unified Special Olympics Team

BIG NEWS! Our Unified Special Olympics team traveled to Ames for the State Summer games last week and had great success! This year’s graduate Grace McCaulley was awarded the Special Olympics Iowa Youth Volunteer of the Year Award! This is the 2nd year in a row a Central DeWitt student has received this award. And, Central DeWitt was awarded the Unified Champion School of the Year! What an incredible honor! We are so proud!

Our cyclists all received gold medals in the 1k. Cyclists included: Adam Harney, Tatiana Raymond, Gage Heston, Ayana Gooch-Sims, Devin Kent, Chloebella Newton, and tandem riders Lily Gruntorad and Marlee Michaelsen.

Our Unified soccer team brought home a silver medal. The team was coached by junior Dalton McCullam and players included: Skyler Raymond, Jack Burken, Christopher Shenker, Kayleb Goldensoph, Jess Shockey, and Cole Michaelsen. Unified members included Kate Kuehl and Mallory McMahon.
