Saber girls basketball Pink Out game has been rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 15. Please wear pink to help raise awareness for breast cancer. The team will also be raising money to donate to Pink for the Cure. Their goal is to raise more funds than any other area school has previously donated to Pink for the Cure. So, let’s show them what it means to be a SABER and help them out! This will also be the rescheduled DeWitt Youth Girls Basketball Recognition Night. Players only get free admission to the game. Players should wear a Saber shirt and line up in the north hallway during the 4th quarter of the JV game. Before winter break, CDIS students were told at an assembly that they reached their school-wide behavior goal for November and December and earned a one-hour teacher swap! At the assembly, our grade level and special teachers came down in front of students and drew their highly anticipated new roles from a box in front of students! The smiles from students and staff were priceless! This memorable one-hour teacher swap occurred today, and it was a huge success! 🐾 During this special hour, each of our grade-level and special teachers took on a different role/class and organized engaging activities. Students experienced all sorts of memorable activities from Jeopardy games and science experiments to even a paper airplane competition! Don't miss the annual Central Saber Athletic Boosters Club Cake Auction and The Education Foundation of Central DeWitt Sloppy Joe Supper sponsored by Ed Morse Chevy GMC of DeWitt on Friday, Jan. 12th. These are both great causes that benefit our students and teachers! The Sloppy Joe Supper begins at 4:30 p.m. in the CDHS atrium and will be served until half-time of the 7:30 p.m. boys varsity basketball game. In the past few months, we’ve been talking about Portrait of a Graduate and how, with your help, it will change the way we educate our students to ensure they are adequately prepared for the path they choose after graduation. We’ve shared ways you can be involved in the planning process and this survey is an opportunity for your voice to be heard! This important survey is to gather your thoughts about the key deeper learning competencies Central DeWitt graduates need to be future-ready (to get to and through their post-secondary goals for college, career, civic, and personal engagement). Come cheer on our Saber girls basketball team this Saturday as they take on Alleman Catholic High School in the 2024 IHMVCU Girls Shootout! Students in 8th grade and younger get in FREE! Game starts at 5:45 p.m. at Augustana College’s Carver Center. This is an annual event where 12 varsity girls basketball teams from Illinois compete against 12 varsity girls teams from Iowa. General admission is $6, which is good for all day.
