Our FFA officer team had an awesome time talking with the second graders from both Ekstrand and St. Joseph Catholic School about the origins of their food and how it’s all connected to agriculture. While visiting Randy’s Neighborhood Market, students learned how everyday products are the result of the hard work of our farmers. It was a fun and educational experience for everyone involved!

Good luck to our Special Olympic athletes and Unified partners who will be competing in pickleball and volleyball at the Special Olympics Iowa Fall Classic this weekend! On Tuesday, Central DeWitt students had the opportunity to visit the Clinton Career Advancement Center. Students learned about the various Career Academies offered for their junior and senior year of high school. The academies, available in both Clinton and DeWitt, offer students a chance to earn a semester to full year of college credit for free, get a head start on their education, and explore career opportunities.
• The Clinton Advancement Center offers students a chance to learn about Agriculture, Automotive Tech, Construction Tech, Culinary Arts, Engineering Tech, Education, Healthcare, and Information Tech.

Today three Central DeWitt teachers were awarded a Quilt of Valor during a ceremony at the DeWitt American Legion. Keith Townsley (National Guard), Kirk Machovec (Coast Guard) and Bob Schwartz (Air Force) were recognized for their service, sacrifice, and valor in defending our nation. Thank you to Mr. Townsley, Mr. Machovec, and Mr. Schwartz for their service and for being such inspiring role models for our students!
