Mr. Law’s Business Communications class is learning about citizenship in the workplace and to get a better understanding of volunteering and community outreach they spent time helping out at the DeWitt Referral Center and Thrift Store. Don’t miss the 2024 IHMVCU Girls Shootout on Saturday, Jan. 6th when Central DeWitt will take on Alleman Catholic High School! Students in 8th grade or younger get in FREE! The Central DeWitt game starts at 5:45 p.m. at Augustana College’s Carver Center. This is an annual event where 12 varsity girls basketball teams from Illinois compete against 12 varsity girls teams from Iowa. Come watch some great girls basketball action and cheer on our Sabers!
General admission is $6, which is good for all day. Tickets are available at the facility.

Over the past few weeks, CDIS, CDMS and CDHS physical education classes have been learning the benefits of yoga and mindfulness techniques thanks to Challenge to Change instructors Angela Rickertsen and Bobbi Kelley. Yoga practices are proven to reduce stress, enhance self-esteem, help regulate emotions and improve mental health. We love seeing the students become empowered by what they are learning and excited to see them implement these practices into their daily lives.

Prior to Thanksgiving Break, CDIS students and staff celebrated reaching their school-wide behavior goal by having an "Anything but a Backpack Day!“ 💜💛
"Anything but a Backpack Day" is a day when students are encouraged to leave their backpacks at home and bring their school supplies in a different type of container.
At CDIS, students brought their supplies in board game boxes, fishing nets, and even rolling luggage (just to name a few)! We loved seeing the creativity of the students and the excitement from students as they entered the building! Way to go, Team CDIS! 🐾
