Effective communication helps us build strong relationships with our families and our community which is why we provide several ways for you to stay informed throughout the school year. Below is a list of official district resources where you can find the most accurate, up-to-date information about school happenings. From forms to calendars to menus, you can find it all at www.cd-csd.org. • CENTRAL DEWITT CSD APP: Don't forget to download our Central DeWitt CSD app before the school year starts! This convenient app makes it easy for families to access essential information such as events, menus, news, documents and more right on your smartphone. • EMAILS, TEXT AND VOICE ALERTS: If you are a parent or guardian of a current Central DeWitt student and would like to receive email, text and/or voice alerts from CDCSD, please visit the parent portal on Infinite Campus. Under settings you can choose to receive emails, voice and text alerts. If you are a parent of a current Central DeWitt student and do not have access to the parent portal, please email Sarah Penniston or call (563) 659-4711. If you are having trouble receiving communication or would like to change your communication preferences, please login to the parent portal on Infinite Campus and verify your communication preferences. Also, please check your email and phone settings. If you have unsubscribed or marked our emails as spam you will not be able to receive communication from us. If you blocked the school phone number on your phone, you will not be able to receive text or voice alerts from us. Always check your spam folder for missed messages, too! It is that time of year again! We wanted to send out a quick reminder to touch base on transportation needs for students attending Central Dewitt this coming school year. If you need to change your family’s transportation needs for the upcoming school year, please give the bus barn a call at (563) 659-0706 as soon as possible. Without your updates we can't accurately gauge how many students will be riding each bus which could impact times and routes. As of this moment there haven’t been any significant changes to the routes, but some times or routes could still change. If that happens, that information will be shared with families before school starts on Aug. 23rd. Yesterday CDIS Principal Spencer Lueders presented to a standing-room-only crowd at the School Administrators of Iowa Annual Conference in Des Moines. His presentation was about maximizing your time as an administrator. Mr. Lueders is definitely the right guy to present on this topic as he is known for not only getting up early to tackle administrative tasks, but he also spends the majority of his day working at a walking desk in the hallways of CDIS so he can interact with staff and students more. On Tuesday, teachers, instructional coaches and administrators were back digging into our Portrait of a Graduate in preparation for the upcoming school year! Portrait of a Graduate is the design process where Central DeWitt Community School District worked with the community to create a collective vision for student success and reshape how we educate our students. Since last fall, over 600 community members, business leaders, parents, students, and staff have taken part in helping us create our Portrait of Graduate. Have you registered your child for the 2024-2025 school year? The first day of school is just over two weeks away so don’t wait any longer! Registration is an easy, online process outlined in this letter: https://bit.ly/3LzKUyq. If you don’t have a computer or internet access, you are welcome to come to the CDCSD Administration Center, 331 E. 8th St., DeWitt, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday to complete registration. The Administration Center will also stay open until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30th and Monday, August 5th, to assist anyone needing help with registration. Registration must be completed by August 5th.
