Every day our employees do incredible things to provide the best educational experience for our students and contribute to making Central DeWitt a welcoming and positive environment. These efforts have not gone unnoticed and deserve to be recognized. Every month each school building acknowledges their stand-out employees, and now starting this month, we are excited to launch the CDCSD Employee of the Month recognition program.
This district-wide program gives Central DeWitt parents, students and community members the opportunity to help us recognize outstanding employees by sharing your positive personal experiences.
We encourage you to take a moment to nominate a deserving Central DeWitt employee today! All full-time and part-time employees are eligible to be nominated for employee of the month. An employee may be chosen as the employee of the month only once during the current school year. Employees who were nominated, but not chosen as the employee of the month, will be recognized as “Saber Superstars” on social media.
Nominations may be submitted by any Central DeWitt employee, student, parent, or community member by using the nomination form found
https://forms.gle/QiEBGxQs24d3biDs8. Nominations for this month are due THURSDAY, OCT. 19TH.
We are excited to receive nominations and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our employees!

On Friday, Mrs. Waleszonia’s students at Ekstrand Elementary had a carrot party to celebrate the end of reading the book, “Too Many Carrots.” Students tried carrots prepared in a variety of ways including cooked, raw, purple carrots, carrot juice, carrot soufflé and carrot cake. Some were more popular than others, but we’re proud of the students for trying them!

Seven CDHS students representing two teams participated in the inaugural JA Stock Market Challenge at St. Ambrose University on Thursday, Oct. 12th. The 31-team competition allowed students to participate in a simulation of real-world trading strategies, including a recreation of the trading floor on Wall Street.
Our team one made up of Ryan McGarry, Dolan Thiesen, Jake VanderHeiden, and Ryan Watters finished with $2,000 earned and in 24th place overall. Our team two members Caleb Kruse, Isabelle Pierce, and Landon Schroeder finished with nearly $17,000 earned and in 9th place overall. The students even had a chance to interact with some Saber alumni which included current Ambrose students as well as Ambrose graduates. What a great experience for our Sabers!

Several Sabers took advantage of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville visit yesterday. They were able to tour campus, hear from admissions, eat in the dining hall, and hear a presentation from the Director of Agriculture. Next week, students will have the opportunity to tour University of Northern Iowa, Black Hawk Community College, and Western Illinois University. Great job to these students who are exploring their post-secondary options!
